ABOUT COLLEGE PREP TUTORS
For the past twenty years, I have prided myself on maintaining a boutique college admissions service delivering exemplary personalized attention from trained professionals. While other firms have scaled their services, we have intentionally remained small to ensure quality. I oversee all aspects of your child's college admissions journey and deliver several services myself. Your child may work with other tutors and coaches throughout their CPT experience, but they will only have one college concierge: Dr. Donna Risolo.

For twenty years, College Prep Tutors has helped hundreds of students get into their 1st choice college, many with substantial scholarship offers. In the past five years, each of our clients, many from high net-worth households, received on average $70,000 in merit scholarships from private colleges. ​
P​​rivate tutoring is a considerable investment for parents to make in their child's education, and for this reason, I only partner with a handful of select tutors and coaches who are highly qualified to ensure that we are delivering a quality service that exceeds your expectation.
I personally train each of my tutors and coaches in the College Prep Universal Test Taking Strategies and the I Got In! 4-Step Method to Getting Into Your First Choice College. All instructors have earned advanced degrees in their subject areas, hold teaching certificates, and have years of experience working with tweens, teens and young adults.

I have expertise in K-12 literacy and English language arts and have had the unique opportunity to have taught every age group, from pre-k to college, in a variety of communities and institutional settings. In each experience, I seek to be a bridge between students and the best practices and innovative ideas that will serve them.

My over twenty years of working with teens and parents has also informed my perspective on teen-parent communication, which I share in the book and masterclass by the same name, Teen Talk: Dr. Donna’s Guide to Building Rapport and Trust with Your Teenager.

I am a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City, where I earned my doctorate degree in Education and also a proud alum of Southern Connecticut State University, where the seeds of my preparation as an educator were sown. I grew up in the communities of Weston and Westport and am a proud alum of Staples High School.
